Skyline High School’s Silver Orchestra plays for visiting Irish President Michael Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins.
Skyline High School’s Silver Orchestra had the honor of playing for Irish President Michael Higgins and his wife, Sabina Higgins, during the duo’s Oct. 1 visit.
“President Higgins and the First Lady are wonderful ambassadors of Irish culture and pose,” said Darrin Cook, the orchestra’s conductor, in an email. “Their smiles filled the room with warmth and inspired the students to deliver a brilliant performance. This is a day the students and I will all fondly remember.”
The symphony played the Irish national anthem for the president and his wife. Higgins visited Skyline to watch the physical education department play Gaelic football. Learn more about his visit here.
